DESCRIPTION
The Strato Pi Base board extends the functionality of the Raspberry Pi by adding robust hardware features designed for industrial and professional environments where reliability and continuous operation are critical.
As the foundation of the Strato Pi Base Server and the Strato Pi Touch Display, this board can also be acquired independently for evaluation, prototyping, or integration into custom embedded applications.
FEATURES
Mounting:
- Standard 40 pin GPIO connector compatible with Raspberry Pi
- Power and serial connections via screw terminal block
Power Supply:
- 9–28V DC input range with surge and reverse polarity protection, plus a 2.2A resettable fuse
- Provides up to 4.0A (at 24V DC) to the Raspberry Pi’s 5V input pins
Serial Interfaces:
- Integrated RS-232 and RS-485 communication ports connected to the Raspberry Pi’s serial line
- Both interfaces feature optical isolation and ESD protection for improved safety and signal integrity
Reliability and Security:
- Independent hardware watchdog managed through GPIO, ensuring reliable operation
- Real-Time Clock (RTC) with replaceable backup battery
- Built in Microchip ATECC608A secure element for cryptographic and hardware security
- Integrated bootloader for the Strato Pi microcontroller, allowing direct firmware updates from the Raspberry Pi
