DESCRIPTION
The Strato Pi CAN board upgrades the Raspberry Pi with advanced hardware capabilities, making it ideal for industrial and automotive environments where stability, safety, and continuous operation are essential.
As the main component of the Strato Pi CAN Server and Strato Pi Touch Display, this board is also available separately for testing, prototyping, or integration into custom embedded systems.
FEATURES
Mounting:
- Standard 40 pin GPIO connector compatible with Raspberry Pi
- Power and serial connections via screw terminal block
Power Supply:
- Wide input range from 9 to 65V DC with surge and reverse polarity protection, plus a 1.3A resettable fuse
- Delivers up to 2.5A (at 24V DC) to the Raspberry Pi’s 5V input pins
Serial Interfaces:
- CAN (Controller Area Network) V2.0B interface supporting speeds up to 1 Mb/s, featuring optical isolation and ESD protection
- RS-485 interface connected to the Raspberry Pi serial line, also optically isolated and ESD protected
Reliability and Security:
- Independent hardware watchdog managed through GPIO, ensuring consistent operation
- Real Time Clock (RTC) with replaceable backup battery
- Integrated Microchip ATECC608A secure element for cryptographic protection and hardware level security
I/O:
- Single relay with change over (CO) SPDT terminals for flexible control applications
