Strato Pi Max is a powerful and flexible industrial-grade server built around the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 or 5. It’s designed for professional environments where long-term reliability and service continuity are critical.

Available in two DIN-rail mountable sizes:

• Strato Pi Max XS: 6 DIN modules with 1 expansion slot
• Strato Pi Max XL: 9 DIN modules with 4 expansion slots

Thanks to its modular design and wide connectivity, Strato Pi Max is perfect for a broad range of applications, including:

• Industrial data acquisition and process control
• Home and building automation
• Access and hotel room control systems
• Environmental monitoring
• Many other IoT and IIoT solutions

It can be delivered with either a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4/5 or the Zymbit Secure Compute Module (SCM) pre-installed, offering enhanced security options.

For projects requiring wireless communication, an optional Compute Module Antenna Kit is available. This kit installs on the top of the enclosure and connects internally to the compute module.

Mounting Options

Strato Pi Max is available in two DIN-rail case formats to suit different installation needs:

• Strato Pi Max XL: 9-module DIN rail enclosure
• Strato Pi Max XS: 6-module DIN rail enclosure

Power Supply

Built for industrial environments, the power input accepts a wide range from 10 to 50 VDC and features advanced protection and monitoring:

• Surge and reverse polarity protection
• 3.3 A resettable fuse
• Voltage and current monitoring via a pluggable 5.08 mm terminal block

Processing Cores

Designed for high-performance control and monitoring, the system includes:

• Compatibility with all Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4/5 and Zymbit Secure Compute Module (SCM)
• Embedded Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller with:
  • Dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ at 133 MHz
  • 264 KB SRAM, 16 MB Flash, and 2 KB EEPROM-backed SRAM
• The RP2040 handles key functions like:
  • Compute Module watchdog and power management
  • Boot sequence control and storage switching
  • Expansion board detection and control

Connectivity

A robust set of communication interfaces is included:

• 1 × Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• 1 × Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps)
• Wi-Fi with optional external antenna
• 2 × USB 2.0 type-A ports with individual power control and fault detection
• Additional I/Os via internal expansion boards

Security and Reliability

Strato Pi Max is engineered for maximum system resilience:

• Independent hardware watchdog with full power-cycle capability
• Boot media switching and SSD disabling in case of failure
• RP2040 programmable remotely for in-field updates and debugging
• Internal fan with automatic load- and temperature-based control
• Integrated Microchip ATECC608 secure element for cryptographic functions
• Temperature sensors and highly accurate RTC (TCXO) with replaceable CR1220 backup battery
• Built-in 3-axis accelerometer for tamper and motion detection

Strato Pi Max goes beyond basic industrial controllers with:

• Up to 4 internal X2 Series expansion slots, auto-detected and individually powered

  • eMMC
  • High-speed M.2 PCIe SSD
  • Dual microSD cards (XL model only), managed via switching matrix:

• Hidden SD card slots, accessible by opening the enclosure
